Whispers of the Horizon: A Pastel Landscape Collection

This collection of pastel drawings reflects my deepening connection to the natural world through soft, vibrant hues and delicate textures. I’ve always been drawn to the idea that landscapes can speak without words, and with pastels, I’ve discovered a medium that allows me to express the subtlety and serenity of nature in a way that feels both personal and expansive.

My love for pastels truly blossomed in Mrs. Brecker's art class. It was there that I first experienced the unique tactile nature of the medium, how it responds to both the softness of the paper and the boldness of my hand. Mrs. Brecker’s encouragement and guidance helped me realize how pastels could blend effortlessly, creating layers of depth and light that felt almost magical. Her classroom was a space where I could experiment, make mistakes, and grow—where I found my voice as an artist.

This collection is a tribute to that discovery, to the textures and gradients of pastels, and to the way they capture the fleeting beauty of the landscapes that inspire me. Each drawing is an exploration of light, color, and the emotions evoked by the world around us.
